"IRON DOES NOT ACCEPT FRAGILE HANDS BUT BENDS TO TENACITY "
Love and passion for metals, craftsmanship and Italian mastery in the processing of noble materials.
She was born in Rome in 1971. At a very young age she expresses the need to approach art through a self-taught path of painting and sculpture, finding her larger passion in matter.
She enters the world of work in 1991 training professionally in an international environment of press office and communication for sporting events. In England as well as in New York and Los Angeles, she diversified her experiences, collaborating with Pavarotti and David Zard.
In 1997 he joined the Mediaset group where she remained until 2012 in the Artistic Resources Department in the role of Casting Director.
Driven by the need of new goals and motivations coming from the passion for design and art, she leaves the broadcasting company and dedicates herself completely to creativity. She focuses her interest in metals and dedicates herself, at a professional level, to welding iron.
Her first personal exhibit was at the Galleria Ca' d'Oro, in the famous and very central Via del Babuino, in Rome. 2015 - SCRAPS was born.

" You can bend the iron, you just need to be determined." And Marta Ugolini certainly is: artist and woman-blacksmith, she changed her life thanks to the welder and a shovel (a metaphor of fatigue and life), moving from the world of communication and entertainment to crafts, from the immaterial to the tangible. After years spent around the world, including Pavarotti & Friends, a swimming world championship, a New York marathon, an equestrian competition in London, the direction of a restaurant in California and then in Rome a long experience in TV production, the turning point. It was supposed to be a sabbatical, but instead it was the beginning of a whole new career. Marta decides to follow her vocation ("as a child I painted and sculpted to survive my sensitivity"), she enters a construction site and learns a new language, that of a totally male world: "It was a test of character, the interview of the most difficult work I've faced, βshe says. Welding two shovels together to make a chair, he started the SCRAPS Design brand. At the Casali del Pino during Floracult it was difficult not to notice his sessions in the space of Re (f) use CarminaCampus: colorful, sustainable, ironic, creativity made in Rome. "
